Meals on Wheels Driver: Drivers use their own vehicle to deliver meals to homebound, low-income seniors who have limited or no means for meal preparation. You must have a valid California Driver’s License, proof of insurance, pass our provided background check, and be at least 18 years of age. Drivers can work with a runner (preferred), or work alone. Drivers are needed Monday through Friday, starting at 10:30am. Routes take approximately 45-60 minutes to complete. We ask volunteers to participate daily, once a week, twice a month, or act as a substitute as needed.
Meals on Wheels Runner: Runners assist drivers in delivering prepared hot meals directly to the doors of homebound seniors. For many seniors, this is the only human contact they have all day. Runners keep simple logs of the food temperature and delivery times. Runners must be at least 18 years of age and pass our provided background check. Routes take about 45-60 minutes to complete. Kitchen Aide/Server: Kitchen aides assist in packaging the hot and cold prepared food for senior home delivery meal recipients. They also set dining places, dish up food, and help with the cleanup. Kitchen aides must be at least 18 years of age. Kitchen aides are needed Monday through Friday, anytime between 9:00am and 1:00pm.
Dining Hall Receptionist: Receptionists greet the seniors and record attendance as they come to eat at our dining sites. If you are good at making people feel welcome, we would like to talk with you! Receptionists must be at least 18 years of age. Reception starts at 10:45am and ends at 12:15pm.
Use your people, social media, and/or organizational skills to help us get the word out about our programs, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, and senior hunger issues. Community outreach volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Hours are flexible based on availability and need.
