Meals on Wheels Driver:
Drivers use their own vehicle to deliver meals to homebound, low-income seniors who have limited or no means for meal preparation. You must have a valid California Driver’s License, a clean DMV record, proof of insurance and be at least 21 years of age. Drivers can work with a runner (preferred), or work alone. Routes take about 30-45 minutes to complete. Drivers are needed Monday - Friday, starting at 10:30 am, 10:45, or 10:50 am. You may volunteer daily, once a week, twice a month, or act as a substitute as needed.
Meals on Wheels Runner:
Runners deliver prepared hot meals directly to the doors of homebound seniors. For many seniors this is the only human contact they have all day. Runners work with a partner/driver. Runners keep simple logs of the food temperature and delivery times. Routes take about 30-45 minutes to complete. Runners are needed Monday - Friday, starting at 10:30, 10:45, or 10:50. You may volunteer daily, once a week, twice a month, or act as a substitute as needed.
Kitchen aides assist in packaging the hot and cold prepared food for senior home delivery meal recipients. They also set dining places, dish up food, and help with the cleanup. Kitchen aides may volunteer Monday - Friday, anytime between 9:00: am and 12:30 pm.
Dining Hall Receptionist:
Receptionists greet the seniors and record attendance as they come to eat at our dining sites. If you are good at making people feel welcome, we would like to talk with you! Reception starts at 10:45 am and ends at noon.
