COVID-19

During COVID-19, we are delivering 2 shelf-stable meals on Fridays and 3 frozen meals on Tuesdays to our regular clients.

However, we cannot guarantee what’s coming on the menu at this time, as it depends on what supplies and ingredients are available.

For the most recent update, click here for the latest message from the Executive Director.

As of March 20, 2020, we are delivering meals on Tuesdays and Fridays only; we deliver multiple meals each time along with other necessities. This schedule cuts down on the number of interactions between volunteers and our senior clients, yet still provides them their vital food delivered to their homes.

If you are a low-income senior living in Yolo County and you need food delivered to you, call:

  • Yolo Food Bank:  530-668-0690  They are delivering a weekly box of dry goods and produce.

  • Raley’s:  They are offering a Senior Essentials Bag for $20.  Bag contains a mix of fresh items and pantry staples. They can be picked up curbside, in store, or placed into your vehicle. Call:

    • West Sacramento: 1601 West Capitol Ave.  916-372-3000

    • Woodland:

      • 367 W. Main: 530-666-1156

      • Bel Air: 1885 East Gibson Rd.: 530-668-4422

Although Meals on Wheels Yolo County is closed to the public and not delivering meals on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (and weekends), we will continue to answer the phone, monitor social media/emails, and, of course, stay busy in the main kitchen in Woodland.

We hope to maintain this schedule for the next few weeks.  But should new information become available or our protocol changes, we will be sure to update you.

We are incurring additional costs we had not anticipated to deal with our changes in service. If you would like to donate to help offset these costs, visit our website at: www.mowyolo.org/donate. Thank you for thinking of our elderly folks at this time.

If you have any concerns, questions, etc:

Take care of yourself; wash your hands with soap and water thoroughly and often.  Cough into your sleeve.  If you have a fever, cough or shortness of breath, call your doctor immediately.

Thanks to these supporters for their help during this difficult time:
